No question, just praise for Time Magazine for getting it right. It could not have been anyone else, given the significance of the election of the first Black president of the United States. This is so great. Lincoln is smiling.

  • 2

What a joke and a crock! Of course he would get it, he's
Obama Christ Superstar! Amazing you can not do anything and make person of the year, although, who else COULD be chosen by this left-leaning magazine. Oh well since anybody can make it now, I guess next year is my turn so what am I complaining about right?

  • 3

Honestly, I don't know how you could have chosen anyone else. He's person of the year, person of the decade and in serious contention for person of the century.

  • 4

A sad day in our history so I guess it is fitting the very media that elected him would recognize this person. Hopefully people will wake up when they see a hand on the bible and hear "barrack" "huisen" "obama" sworn in as their President and realize the path this country has taken...South Africa?

    Good Luck!

Given Time Magazine's bias-laced issues during the presidential campaign, your pick comes as no surprise and was absolutely predictable.

  • 6

Absolutely got it right! Thank you TIMES

  • 7

The question is absurd. How could you disagree?

  • 8

My only regrets is that he is not a born Jamaican which would not make him eligible to run for president. This would really emphasise our power to the world.

  • 9

    Figures!

It should be our men and women of our military! Through all this mess they have stood strong with dignity and honor. Agree or disagree, they stood up for our country and fought for our freedom and always helped the weaker person.

The men and women of the Armed Forces that unselfishly give up their lives to serve in the worst of locations under the worst of conditions deserve to be the men and women of the year. Barrack is a very priviliged person who has not done a real act of courage or selfless service. I find his rise to power from the Chicago polical machine and how he has made is fortunes subject to further investigation and scrutiny. How was he able to afford to attend such schools and afford that house from such humble beginnings?

    Greggie in Tampa,

Obama is not Christ. You are an idiot.

    Sorry butthead, just my opinion.

  • 12

Thank you Greg! This past election was not won by Obama, but by the bias journalism of the mass media. Many will forever see this as a sad era for our country.

  • 13

Who else could it possibly have been? From the moment I heard and saw his speech in Springfield on C-SPAN, announcing his entry into the race, I thought, "This is the man who can change the dismal atmosphere of the last eight years." He certainly gets my vote as "Person of the Year." You got it right!

I cannot agree more with your choice of the person of the year. I believe he is the only person who can turn this country around. I also believe that he has a VERY full plate.
I am happy with your choice.
At a rally in Noblesville, IN in the summer I told my 16 y/o grand daughter that she had just shaken hands with her next president. It was a good feeling.

  • 15

Of course it should be Barak Obama. Doesn't he fit Time's criteria for choosing Time Magazine's Person Of The Year?

  • 16

I think final your choice of Person of the year was good but can't believe you would even consider Sarah Palin in the running. As a republican white professional woman, I think she is one of the stupidest people I have ever heard speak. She has no idea what she is talking about. I find her whole persona just unbelievable and immediately discounted John McCain as a serious presidential candidate the first time I heard her and found out about some of her barbaric actions in Alaska.

  • 17

Right on the money out with Bush who has been a complete disaster to this country, a sinking economy, 2 wars, trillions in dept.
Obama will have a lot of work on he's hands to clean up after this incompetent administration. People are fedup and sick of the GOP Time for change.... I see there are a few racist people commenting on here

  • 18

Brilliant ! Absolutely Brilliant! Best choice in many years. Go Obama

  • 19

I want to know How Sarah Palin had an impact in our lives????? with her hilarious interviews? and lack of knowledge? or because Russia is just next to Alaska?

  • 20

I do not agree with Time's choice....Obama won the presidency and that is an honor...
I think Sarah Palin should have won "Person of the year" this unknown woman was a candidate for the VP...plus she is a Mother, a wife a Governor and she is only forty four years old...
Sarah Palin has accomplished so much in those years...
I beleive it is much harder as a woman, Mom, wife and politician in 2008...not a winner...
Barack Obama is a winner and that accolade speaks for itself...
Sarah Palin is my person of the year!

What a joke, but what could one expect from a magazine that leans so far to the left. If he is so great, then why doesn't he produce his birth certificate so his qualification to be president can be verified and let the FEC audit his campaign finances. One that is honest has nothing to hide and would more than willingly provide what is asked for. Only time will tell as to the damage that will be done to this great country of ours.

  • 22

Great Pic! Obama all the way! Looking back at your past issues I don't understand how Bush got on the cover????

  • 23

I totally agree, you could never have chosen a better person. He is the one.

  • 24

I agree. He is the person of the year!Great job!Thank-you.

While this nation is at war, there is only one choice and that is the American serviceman and woman.
