This list lost all respect when it left out Dan Rooney. If you were honestly trying to publish a list of the best sports execs. you would have included him. Please do not try to write any more articles about sports because this one is clearly an epic failure. Ps. Look into the Detroit Red Wings... they are doing something right.

There are a few other pretty weak dudes on your list (Bud Selig, anyone?), but Gary Bettman is the worst sports exec around. No feel for hockey at all. Just another suit from New York City, and not a very good one at that. His Versus TV deal is pathetic. Failed miserably in his grand plan to sell hockey in the Sun Belt. Attendance figures in many rinks inflated. Half a dozen teams in dreadful financial shape. Loathed in Canada for preventing failed US franchises from moving to the Great White North, where hockey actually matters. Long past time for Gary to go back to being a backup exec at the NBA - not that he had any feel for basketball, either.
As for the best, there are a few outstanding folks on your list...but the best of them over the long haul probably is David Stern. Wonder what he makes of the mess his old pal Bettman has made?

Dan Rooney Owner Pittsburgh Steelers.

Pros
Is considered the elder statesman of football owners. Understands how to win in a small market. Does not fire a coach at the first sign of trouble. Think, only three coaches in around 40 years and all of them Super Bowl Champions.

Cons
Is not appreciated by te high spending teams. Because football is a business will cut a player to save money. Actually both of those might be pros.

He is the leader of the most respected franchise in all of American sports. How could you even think of leaving him out?

Score 90

Ricardo Terra Teixeira is, by far, the most successful President of a Soccer National Confederation. Under his leadership Brazil has won the FIFA World Cup twice, has ranked second once and fourth once as well, two Americas Cup e several other FIFA Under 17 and 20 titles.

Moreover, he is today one of the most influencial members of the FIFA Executive Committee, being aleady mentioned a couple of times to succeed Joseph Blatter.

Sir Alex Fergunson is the best.... more than 20 years ahead of one of the biggest soccer clubs. You need to be really good to be there for so long.
